Mihai-Alin Badiu (PDRA)

Mihai received the Dipl.-Ing., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 2008, 2010 and 2012, respectively. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford and Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University, Denmark. From 2016 to 2018 he held a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Danish Council for Independent Research. He had research visits to Aalborg University (2011), Aston University (2016-2017) and University of Oxford (2017-2018). His research interests are in the fields of wireless communications, random graphs, statistical inference and signal processing.

Dene A. Hedges (DPhil)

Dene received his honours degree from the University of Bath in 1984 and has worked in industry for over three decades designing a variety of R.F. communication systems. He is currently pursuing a DPhil degree in the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford on a part-time basis. His current research interests include novel modulation schemes, stochastic networks and cognitive radio.

Arta Cika (DPhil)

Arta received her Bachelor Degree (Graduated with Honours) in Telecommunications Engineering from Polytechnic of Turin (Italy) in 2009. She then received an MSc Degree (Graduated with Honours) in Telecommunications Engineering, in which she specialised in Wireless Systems and Transmission Technologies, in 2015, both from Polytechnic of Turin and Telecom ParisTech (Grande EĢcole-Paris, France). She participated in a Double Degree program between Polytechnic of Turin and Telecom ParisTech with one year of study at Polytechnic of Turin and one year of study at EURECOM Institute (Sophia Antipolis, France). From 2015 to 2016, she worked as an LTE Physical Layer Engineer in the R&D department at ERCOM, Marseille, France. She is currently pursuing a DPhil degree in the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. Her current research interests include information theory, spatial networks, stochastic geometry, random geometric graphs, graph entropy and wireless networks.

Sunghwan Cho (DPhil)

Sunghwan Cho studied as an undergraduate at Korea Military Academy in South Korea where he completed B.S. degrees (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering in 2007. He earned his MSc in telecommunications from Georgia Tech in 2011 under the direction of Professor Mary Ann Weitnauer. He is now a DPhil student in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Justin P. Coon, and also a captain of the Korean Army. His current research interests include physical layer security, stochastic geometry, and visible light communications.

Tanmayee Deshprabhu (DPhil)

Tanmayee attended the University of Manchester from 2014 to 2018 where she received a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (with Hons) and an MSc in Communication Engineering. She is currently pursuing a DPhil within the Oxford Communications Research Group at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Justin P. Coon.

Ferhat Yarkin (DPhil)

Ferhat received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees with high honours, all in electronics and communication engineering, from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey, in 2015 and 2017, respectively. From 2016 to 2018, he was a research and teaching assistant and a member of the Wireless Communication Research Group at Istanbul Technical University. Currently, he is a DPhil student in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Justin P. Coon and a member of the Oxford Communications Research Group. He has served as a reviewer for IEEE and Elsevier journals. His research interests include MIMO systems, cooperative communication, spatial modulation and channel modulation.

Zijing Wang (DPhil)

Zijing Wang completed her B.Eng. and M.S. degrees in communication engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, in 2016 and 2019, respectively. She is currently working towards the DPhil degree under the supervision of Prof. Justin P. Coon in the department of Engineering Science.

Tianxiong Wang (MSc)

Tianxiong Wang received the B.Sc. degree in electronic science and technology from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2019. He is currently working toward the M.Sc. degree with the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. His research interests include IoT, wireless signal processing, and convex optimization.
