Technology Developement Leader - Staff Engineer, LFoundry S.r.l, Via Antonio Pacinotti 7, Avezzano (AQ), Italy.

Giuseppe Di Nicolantonio graduated in Electronic Engineering at University of L’Aquila (Italy). He worked in Siemens CNX as  hardware design engineer. In 2006, he joined Micron as data miner engineer. In 2008 he moved into Technology Development team, working on 90nm CMOS technology node introduction, 1.1µm e 0.9µm back side illumination (BSI) pixel. In 2013, after LFoundry acquisition, he worked on 110nm PDK development and Flash SST ESF3 technology introduction. Since 2014 he is working as Technology Development Leader of LFoundry image sensors technology platform.

On Process Technology for CMOS Image Sensors
The main focus and purpose of the talk will be to give a brief high level overview of the methods, approaches, technologies, solutions, with a few simple examples, developed and implemented inside LFoundry to evaluate and improve some of the common quality parameters of a CMOS image sensor (spectral quantum efficiency, dark current, hot pixel, …). Into the proposed examples descriptions will be showed a set of general impacts coming from material stacks, integration schemes, manufacturing fabrication contamination control referred to the specific performance parameter in consideration.
