Luke Jenkins

Academic Background

Luke graduated from the Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London with a first class degree in Geophysics in 2015 and spent the summer of 2014 as an exchange student at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Luke is currently working on a DPhil in Earth Sciences and is funded by the NERC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Oil and Gas.

Research interests

Luke’s research aims to better elucidate the physical processes that govern the subsurface flow of fluids in geological porous media, with applications to Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and hydrocarbon flows through reservoirs and fractured networks. Luke also maintains interest in computational geodynamics, particularly subduction dynamics – the subject of his master’s thesis.
